Master Station(s)
An intercom unit located inside, used to identify visitors and control access to points of entry once identification has been established.
Common features include:

- Wired or wireless
- Multi-channel selection

Door Station(s)
An intercom unit located next to an entrance, used to page the master intercom unit(s).
Common features include:
- Chime
- Mains or battery powered
- Wired or wireless
- Multi-channel selection
The door station and master station are always the same brand.
Door Releases
Devices connected to doorways that allow the door to open when a signal is received from the master station.
Additional Intercom System Components:
Overhead Camera(s)
Usually mounted above doorways, cameras allow the master station user to see who's at the door.
